PREFACE
You are going to spend the next year studying at UPAZ and El Rodeo. You will see and hear many birds and butterflies, walk past multiple trees, avoid plenty of spiders, and even catch a glimpse of an occasional mammal and reptile here and there. This is a very diverse and unique ecosystem that we live in, with a long history of human influence. However, resources have not been readily available for UPAZ students to learn about their surroundings. This guidebook is meant to provide people with the resources available not to just experience nature, but to learn about it as well. We hope that you will carry this book with you as you travel around El Rodeo. Use it as a foundation for your learning about the flora and fauna of this region.
