The Education of a Provincial Pharmacist William A. Zellmer Donald E. Francke Medal Lecture Presented at the ASHP Midyear Clinical Meeting Las Vegas, Nevada December 7, 2009
Introduction When I selected as the title of this lecture, "The Education of a Provincial Pharmacist," I was trying to reconcile my self-concept with the international focus of this award. Dr. Francke said, The pharmacist could contribute most … if … he [or she] tried to do the following: Improve the quality of life on this planet. This means working for the eradication of pollution of our air, our waters and our land, to stop the despoiling of our natural resources and to help conserve our sources of energy….
