Defining Audiophile
By Mark Marcantonio In a variety of forums intellectual souls have been asking some rather deep questions that belies a simple or standard answer. My favorite has been to define "audiophile". After contemplating the semantics of such a definition I feel like I have found a pretty decent description: Audiophile: A lover of music with an endless quest to hear the recordings by assembling the finest audio equipment combination within a specific budget and according to their unique auditory preferences.
I just don't think there is another time of the year where the western world is so tuned into music as the Christmas season. It goes beyond the background music in the stores and some businesses. In the past few years I come to notice how many people are actually singing along. In the case of my own home, when I come home my wife will have the seasonal fare playing, and at a volume well above her normal whisper level.
