    Progress Against The Pacific 2009 Action Plan
    The following table summarizes key activities undertaken as part of the implementation of the Pacific 2009 Action Plan. The table has been compiled from feedback provided by individual Pacific Island Countries (however, it should be noted that not all Pacific Island Countries provided feedback and there may be additional activities undertake that are not included below). The Activity Numbers and Title correspond directly to Activities identified in the Pacific 2009 Action Plan. CREDIBILITY
    Action Plan Activity # and Title 1. Increase membership of the Convention where that would aid conservation of Pacific Heritage 2. Make substantial progress in establishing tentative lists and drafting World Heritage nominations Level Regional Dates and Venue 16 April 2009 Description Cook Islands became the 186th State Party to the Convention on 16 April 2009. Outcome/Results Pacific region now has 14 member states, compared to only two in 2000. Comments The World Heritage Centre is working closely with the remaining countries yet to ratify the Convention.     Eleven of the fourteen Pacific State Parties now have Tentative Lists, compared to only one in 2004. Several countries have also recently reviewed and updated their TL's including Fiji, Australia, New Zealand, Palau and Vanuatu. Australia provided assistance for nine projects between 2004 and 2008 related to nominations and also for projects relating to
