Development of Top-up Degrees and New Courses
Collaboration Enhancement Meeting of Top-up Degree Programme – Business Administration (Hons) in Business and Supply Chain Management
On 30 November 2007, a collaboration enhancement meeting was held to discuss the operation of the top-up degree programme – Business Administration (Hons) in Business & Supply Chain Management. The programme was first launched in 2005 and the intake in August 2007 was the third cohort. The objective of the meeting was to enhance collaboration and share good practices between the Department of Business Services and Management (BSM) of IVE (Tsing Yi) and the Leeds Metropolitan University (Leeds Met). Mr. Graham Godfrey, Director of International Studies and Ms. Marie-Paule Sheard, International Manager (Development) of the Leeds Metropolitan University, made an introduction to the operation of similar overseas topup degree programme. Afterwards, the operating unit of the programme, BSM of IVE (Tsing Yi), reported the daily operation and administrative matters such as the mode of delivery, the students' performance and the learning atmosphere. With the satisfactory and smooth running of the programme, the agenda was then moved to the discussion of the feasibility to launch the Master programme so as to strengthen the articulation path. After the meeting, a campus tour was conducted in order to demonstrate the facilities of the campus of IVE (Tsing Yi) that the students were enjoying. Learning Resources Centre, lecture theatres, sports complex, gymnasium, swimming pool and tennis pitch, etc. were all visited. Ms. Marie-Paule Sheard said that IVE (Tsing Yi) was one of the loveliest campuses that she had ever seen. She believed that with such "hardware", students would enjoy their campus lives very much.
